Payment Service

Payment processing for the club’s web shop, one of the shop’s two business-critical systems. I took over a proof of concept and, together with one other developer, turned it into the production service, from integrating the payment providers to the interfaces with the web shop and SAP CRM. Later the main responsibility was mine.

Providers and interfaces

The service takes the payments from the web shop and settles them through several providers, among them PayPal and Masterpayment. It served the payment options as its own embeddable iframe, wired into the web shop among other places. Behind that it talks to the web shop and SAP CRM over SOAP and REST, so that order and payment line up. On top came the admin interface that makes payments easy to trace, and load testing before go-live. Because the shop’s revenue depended on it, the service was always under close attention.
